Attempting to fall asleep on Monday, December 10th, 2012 reminded me of being a kid and trying to fall asleep on Christmas Eve, oh the anticipation was great! Imagine what it is like trying to sleep when you know the very next morning you are going to become the parents of twin girls! Our arrival at the now closed St. Catharines General Hospital at 6:30am was not without humour. The Admitting Nurse asked for the reason for our visit; "to become parents" I proudly announced! What followed in the next few hours was the most wonderful birth of my daughters I could have ever imagined! Due to "Baby B" being in the breech position, I had a scheduled C-Section. The absolute best thing about this scenario was that my best friend, Jen Frendo, a family physician in Niagara was going to help deliver my babies!
Finally at 8:31am and 8:33am our little girls were born!
Abigail Paige, 6lbs and 10oz, 19.5 inches long
Molly Claire, 5lbs and 10oz, 18.5 inches long
