Lots of Questions! Where are the Answers?

As a new Mom I had a TON of questions:
  •  To use a soother or not?
  • What type of baby bottle and nipple is best?
  • What type of formula is best?
  • What do I need to put on my baby registry? (and you do need to have one of these!)
Especially twin specific questions such as:
  • How do you get twins on similar schedule?
  • Should they share the same crib?
  • How to you comfort two crying babies?
  • How do you breast feed two babies at once?
I found the answers to these questions in a variety of places. First I turned to my friends, family and neighbour who recently had kids for advice. These amazing women served as my sounding board and a great place for me to get honest, trusted advice from people who knew me best! My friend Beth took me for a tour of Babies R Us and pointed out to me all the key baby gear items that she found useful as a new mom and also pointed out all the ridiculous items marketing strategies try and convince you to buy for your child's well being. This visit alone made building my baby register much easier! For the record I had two registries, one at Babies R Us and one at Sears. This gave my friends out of town more options and gave me exposure to more products.

POMBA was once again an amazing resources as these M.O.Ms (Mommy's of Multiples) had lived through what I was experiencing and had lots of great tips for me. Whenever I can, I try to attend their monthly meetings to network with other Moms and hear the great guest speakers they have. Plus, who couldn't use a few hours out at William's Coffee Pub!

Finally, there was four books I read to learn about becoming a Mom and pick up advice for raising twins. All four of these books offered me some invaluable information that I learned and applied with the Turkettes and it has really made a difference in my confidence and parenting skills.

My Top Four Must Reads for M.O.Ms:

The Mother of All Baby Books
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Twins
Secrets of the Baby Whisperer
Juggling Twins
